The Muéo Academy, at Church of the Redeemer, is pleased to offer theatre camp for children from age 5 through completion of 8th grade. Two separate weeks of camp will be offered on the following dates:
July 8-11, 2008 (Tuesday–Friday) 9:30 AM until 1:00 PM
July 14-18, 2008 (Monday–Friday) 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM
Lee Knippenberg, our Muéo Academy instructor with the extensive theatrical background, will conduct the camp. Lee, who recently appeared as Mrs. Bradley in the THEATRE WORKS production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, directed the theatre program at Oglethorpe for fifteen years before relinquishing the day-to-day direction to home-school her children. At Oglethorpe, she annually produced a popular children’s theatre experience attended by school groups from throughout the state of Georgia. She currently teaches Intermediate and Advanced acting classes at Oglethorpe. She has, since co-founding THEATRE WORKS, a not-for-profit theatrical company committed to producing shows that are family-friendly, served as both its Artistic Director and Director of Education.
Children who have attended THEATRE WORKS summer camps have appeared in:
"The King & I”
"Bye, Bye Birdie”
"Sound of Music”
"The Homecoming”
"Love Letters”
"Waiting for Godot
"You Are Special”
