Lee Knippenberg, M.F.A. holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Oglethorpe University (’82) and a Master of Fine Arts in Performance from the University of Georgia (’89). She is also a graduate of the American Conservatory Theatre’s Summer Training Congress, where she studied acting with Frank Savino and Deann Mears. From 1990 – 2004, Lee worked as Director of the Theatre Program at Oglethorpe University. She is married to Oglethorpe Professor of Politics Joseph Knippenberg, and recently stepped down from full time teaching to homeschool their two children. She continues to teach as an adjunct in Oglethorpe’s theatre department, and is also actively involved with Theatre Works of GA.
