Strong directors who have also influenced her include Anton Armstrong and Donald Newan. Amanda currently is teaching music in the Cobb School system, grades kindergarten through fifth. Each year she directs two separate choral groups for third graders and fourth through fifth graders, who perform thirteen times a year with all age levels. While teaching within the Cobb system Amanda has advanced her education by receiving levels I and II certification in the Carl Orff Schwartz method, a strong method of early music education renowned world wide, and is a level I World Drumming facilitator. She is also certified to teach the First Steps of Music program by John Fierrabend, an early childhood education program for prenatal to age five children. She currently performs with the Cobb County Symphony Chorus as a Soprano and is presently pursuing her Masters at Kennesaw State University. Her educational philosophy for singing includes a strong base in good vocal hygiene, ensemble singing, music pedagogy, and creating life long singers.
